White Flag [10/31].
This week has been pretty rough. I'm running on seriously low sleep, my housework continues to pile up, and everyone seemed to be out of sorts today. Sterling was awake more than he was asleep, and when he was awake he was crying most the time. The only way I could calm him down was to walk around with him and I can only do that for so long.
Then in the midst of one of Sterling's crying episodes, Ruby started choking on a tater tot. Bad. Like, have to stick your finger down the kid's throat to extract it. There was a moment where I actually feared I was going to have to call 911. YOU GUYS. I DO NOT handle emergency situations very well. At least Ruby got over the whole thing pretty quick.
Right now, I'm trying to figure out if all of this stress is just typical writer's adversity or if it's a sign that I need to pull the plug on this blog challenge. Because I'm certainly struggling to find the time to do this. Even as I write this, Ruby is on my lap watching YouTube videos in a separate computer window.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if I post something tomorrow, then I post another day into this challenge. But don't be surprised if I don't. Part of this gig is knowing when to say no, and my proverbial plate is pretty full at the moment...

So sorry Erin. I'm so glad that Ruby is okay. If it helps you feel less alone, things are rough here too. I came down with influenza yesterday and am miserable, terrified of passing this to Pip, and have had to face the reality that stay at home moms don't get to have sick days. SO HARD. Love you lots!
ReplyDeleteDon't stress if you have to bail. Blogging should not come before your personal sanity! I say this as someone who's baby screamed, scratched and pulled at my hair all morning. Hope you get some relief!
ReplyDeleteAw girl. Glad you got some down time last night. Sterling was a charmer and I was so glad to see you. Keep your head up! You are an amazing momma and writer. You'll find the balance. Hope you hop back in when it's settled down a little. XX
