Last Year At Marienbad

So far, I've spent the majority of this new year laying on a couch with the stomach bug:( On the bright side, this has allowed me to catch up on my film list!

Last Year at Marienbad was one that I screened. Though I found the plot to be somewhat incomprehensible, the visuals were absolutely stunning.

Costumes by Chanel, of course.

If you have seen this film, I'd love to hear your interpretation of it!

Our 8mm Wedding Film

Our AMAZINGLY talented friend & videographer, Dave Poyzer, has released a web version of the 8mm film he shot on our wedding day.

We were so happy to have our wedding captured in this way and really couldn't have asked for anything more.

In addition to Super 8 film, Dave also shoots with a variety of vintage cameras. So if you're looking to incorporate a unique vintage element into your big day, his services may be inquired at The Wedding Format. He comes highly recommended!!

Music: "Hoppipola" by Sigur Ros.

Design for Dreaming

In search of all things Arcade Fire on The Suburbs album release day, I came across this video featuring an older song, "In the Backseat".

The film clip is from a 1956 fantasy short entitled Design for Dreaming. The story is about a woman who wants her husband to buy her every car she sees.

It's beautiful & haunting & fuses gorgeously with the song.

Thought on a Friday // 02.19.10

Deep thoughts, indeed. But the latest campaign for French Connection's The Man / The Woman by Fallon is so likable with its witty captions and minimal photography.

There's even a series of shorts that will screen around films targeted specifically to the male and female audiences. Watch them all on the French Connection's video channel.
